Data and security

The short answer: your CRM data stays in your Atlassian site, and nothing leaves it.

Where your data is stored

  • Your CRM records (companies, contacts, leads, deals, activities and their links) are stored in Forge SQL inside your own Atlassian site.
  • Personal preferences, such as your navigation, list view and onboarding progress, are stored per person in the same Atlassian-hosted storage.
  • There is no external database and no third party holding your CRM data.
  • Data residency follows Atlassian’s hosted storage for your site; Atlassian handles region moves.

Runs on Atlassian

Nexus CRM is eligible for Runs on Atlassian. Atlassian checks this again on every release, and a build that added an outside data path would lose it. It means the app runs on Atlassian’s infrastructure and your data stays there.

No external egress

Section titled “No external egress”
  • The app makes no calls to non-Atlassian servers: no analytics, no outside APIs, nothing shipped elsewhere.
  • It reads Jira and Jira Service Management through Atlassian’s own APIs, for example to look up a request’s reporter. Those calls stay inside your site.
  • A check in the build fails any release that adds an outside permission, a remote backend or a dynamic web trigger response, so this can’t change quietly.

What Atlassian holds and what Nexus CRM holds

  • Atlassian holds your Jira work items, users and service desk customers. Nexus CRM only reads them.
  • Nexus CRM holds its own CRM records, plus links that refer to Jira work item keys and Atlassian account IDs.

Access and governance

  • Roles, field permissions and pipeline teams are enforced on the server. See Permissions.
  • Every change is recorded in the Audit log.
  • The app asks for the least access it needs. It never changes your work items; the only things it writes to Jira are its per-space on/off setting and the stored answers to its JQL functions.

Your data, your control

  • Admins can find a person’s record, edit it, export it to CSV and delete it, all in the app.
  • Purchasing and licensing go through the Atlassian Marketplace. Nexus CRM never sees payment details.
